Surfing on the Gold Coast The Gold Coast is one of Australia’s most popular destination for holidays and for surfing. The climate on the Gold Coast is sub-tropical and the ‘Goldie’ basks in 300 days per year of glorious Queensland sunshine plus it has stacks of affordable holiday lettings and plenty of things to do outside of surfing. Go on a Gold Coast surfing holiday and you will not be disappointed.

The Gold Coast has many good surf spots like the world famous Superbank. The Goldie attracts 1000’s of surfers per year from all over Australia and countries like Japan, Europe and the USA. Many of Australia’s surfing legends and champion surfers such as Wayne ‘Rabbit’ Bartholomew and ‘Coolie kids’, Dean Morrison, Mick Fanning and Parko.

Almost every surfer who comes to Australia surfing does so by plane and travellers coming direct to the Gold Coast from overseas will enter by flight to Brisbane. Internal Australian flights and some flights from New Zealand can easily get flights to the Gold Coast Airport.
